Training and recruitment

At Break the Cycle our mission is to ensure that people with offending records get the support and encouragement needed for them to introduce positive changes in their lives. Most important within this is to ensure that individuals are economically secure through active engagement within mainstream society. Most importantly it is vital that ex-offenders are re-introduced into the world of work as soon as possible. However there are many barriers preventing the latter from happening:

  • No previous work history
  • Poor vocational skills sets
  • Negative image of mainstream employment
  • Discriminative employers
  • Poor literacy and numeracy
  • Substance abuse issues
  • Learning difficulties such as dyslexia

At Break the cycle we aim to tackle these issues head on by providing a range of vocational skills training courses backed by specialist support aimed at recognising and overcoming barriers faced by people with offending records. We will then support both new employees and employers with placement mentors that assist our learners through their first days at work. Break the Cycle also has a package of work based learning courses so that people can continue their skills improvement whilst working.

We recognise that the training we offer can benefit all people and organisations making them more efficient compliant and successful within the tough economic conditions that currently exist. We therefore have an excellent package of training courses delivered by our specialist training partners designed to meet current organisational needs.

However contracting with Break the Cycle gives you other benefits that make engaging with us more attractive and rewarding.

We do not have any shareholders to satisfy and our company ethos is to ensure that any operational profit will fund courses and programme for people with offending records. Therefore you will know that when we are delivering your in-house training all your company spend will go toward helping people re start their lives on a more positive track. Utilising your training budget to improve not only your internal staff's skills and opportunities but to also benefit some of the most troubled in society can only greatly enhance your organisation's reputation.
